Days of Our Lives spoilers for Thursday, July 23, 2026, confirm that Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) vents to Belle Black (Martha Madison) as her issues with husband Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) continue to escalate.
Meanwhile, right about the time that Stephanie is spilling all her woes to Belle, Alex is doing the same thing — but to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd), who offers Alex some support.
All of this latest drama between Stephanie and Alex stems from the return of Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins). Unfortunately for the couple, it doesn’t look like they’ll be getting past their latest marriage issues anytime soon.
Especially not with Joy around…
Stephanie & Alex’s Marriage Is Falling Apart
Recently on DOOL, Joy returned to Salem with Kelsey, the secret daughter she shares with Alex. This sudden return, with a baby no less, came shortly after Alex and Stephanie tied the knot. Immediately upon Joy’s reappearance, Alex found himself in a tricky situation. He was now a parent — yet had a commitment to his wife, Stephanie.
To make matters worse, all of this happened right after Stephanie was stalked and kidnapped. Stephanie was — and still is — struggling with trauma from her whole kidnapping and stalker ordeal. And then, Stephanie nearly shot Joy, as Days of Our Lives spoilers hinted would happen.
Joy wanted distance between Kelsey and Stephanie after this almost horrifying situation. Stephanie, however, has continued to have issues with how close Alex and Joy have become as they work to raise Kelsey together. She even deleted a voicemail Joy left for Alex, yet again creating distrust and drama within her marriage.
Tensions have only continued to intensify between the married couple — and between Stephanie and Joy. Recently, Alex spent the night with Joy and Kelsey during a family emergency. To get back at her husband, Stephanie invited Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) to stay with her.
Although neither overnight stay was anywhere near a full-blown affair, it’s definitely a dramatic move for Stephanie to make. It has caused such unnecessary drama, even though Alex and Stephanie are trying to work through all of those disagreements.
Thursday’s spoilers confirm that their resentment remains.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Stephanie Vents to Belle
Stephanie decides to turn to Belle about her ongoing marital issues. This spoiler might suggest that Stephanie is looking for another perspective on this whole mess — and advice from someone who isn’t her intimate family member.
Though Stephanie is likely seeking validation, Belle might be the one to help her realize that deleting Joy’s message and inviting Theo over is simply pushing Alex away even more.
Other Days of Our Lives spoilers have indicated that Alex is seeking his own support about his marriage issues. Chad seems ready to support Alex in all this, despite his own past history with Stephanie. Will Chad and Belle be able to help get these two to put aside all their past issues and save their marriage?
Or are we about to see a temporary — or even permanent — split between Alex and Stephanie?
Nothing has yet confirmed that we’re about to see the end of Stephanie and Alex’s marriage. However, the duo definitely has been put through the wringer in the past few months… and it doesn’t look like anything is about to change for them anytime soon.
