Recently on General Hospital, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) returned to Port Charles, giving her the chance to reunite with her children while also learning a bit more about Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) current condition.
Liesl’s return was full of drama — as it almost always is. Interestingly, the doctor has been acting a bit peculiar when it comes to talking about her son, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), coming back from the dead. Of course, we know that Nathan is really his twin brother, Cassius Faison. Allegedly, Liesl doesn’t know, though Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) does.
However, Liesl was acting very oddly when Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was questioning her about the possibility that Cesar Faison was alive… or that someone was impersonating Faison. When Joss tried to discuss Nathan, Liesl wouldn’t have it.
Then, when Liesl went to reunite with Nathan and her grandson, she was just acting odd, wasn’t she? She was happy, but also almost bittersweet. And she was very peculiar with the words and phrases she used. Though no General Hospital spoilers have hinted that she’s in on the secret, we can’t help but ask: Does Liesl Obrecht know that Nathan is really Cassius?
Who Knows the Truth About Nathan on GH?
So far, the only people who know that Nathan is really Cassius are his sister, Britt, and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). However, that doesn’t mean that Liesl hasn’t figured out the truth. Cassius is still her son, after all. It will be more than a little interesting to learn how she figured this out, as it doesn’t appear as if Cassius even knows that she knows who he is.
That’s if she does indeed know the truth. There are a lot of different reveals that have yet to happen where Nathan/Cassius is concerned. Obviously, it’ll be intriguing to learn more about the dynamic between Liesl and Cassius, including why Britt never knew about him, why Liesl never mentioned him, and whatnot.
Of course, we still don’t know too much about Cassius himself, though we are beginning to see what he’s capable of. Previously on General Hospital, after learning that Joss was a WSB agent asking too many questions, Cassius attacked and kidnapped her to keep her from digging.
This most certainly will come back to haunt him. What will Liesl do when she learns what he has done? What will Britt? After all, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) likely won’t love to hear that Britt told Cassius about Joss being a WSB agent. Britt’s admittance directly led to Cassius going after Joss. He’ll clearly do anything and everything to keep his secret safe.
There’s a whole lot of drama coming to the Faison/Obrecth/Westbourne family — and soon. If Liesl does know the truth, will she stand by the son she didn’t raise through thick and thin? Will we see the mother-son duo connect honestly anytime soon?
