It appears that Johnny is back in support mode as Chanel continues to face an aggressive form of breast cancer. Can Johnny help Chanel stay strong for their family?
Chanel Struggles as She Undergoes Cancer Treatment
Recently on DOOL, Chanel and Johnny’s lives were changed forever after Johnny discovered a lump in her breast. Medical testing later confirmed that she had a malignant mass. Chanel is now suffering from breast cancer — while she is pregnant.
She began chemotherapy late last month, amid major uncertainty about her future. Understandably, Chanel is going through an immensely difficult time. Throughout it all, Johnny has tried his best to be there for her. However, that doesn’t mean that a strain hasn’t appeared in their marriage at times.
Furthermore, as previous Days of Our Lives spoilers confirmed, Chanel’s cancer battle has become a DiMera family conflict. Johnny now believes that arsenic-contaminated Smith Island water may have given Chanel cancer to begin with. His father, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), has rejected this accusation.
However, Johnny’s furious at his father for all he’s done recently, including his involvement in Holly Jonas’ (Ashley Puzemis) poisoning. Can Johnny put aside his rage and be the supportive husband he needs to be for Chanel?
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Johnny & Chanel Try to See the Bright Side
Chanel will only continue to face her new life undergoing cancer treatment, unfortunately. These new spoilers don’t hint that she faces any sort of medical setback. Therefore, Johnny’s attempt to cheer Chanel up may just be him trying to get her to see the bright side of things during these very trying times.
Obviously, there’s a lot of drama going on in their lives at the moment. Days of Our Lives spoilers hint that the arsenic cover-up will remain a large threat for the DiMeras. If Johnny can find proof that connects either his father or DiMera Pharmaceuticals to the contamination, then will he truly bring down his father? Or will he fall in line?
For now, Johnny clearly has his hands full trying to keep Chanel in fighting spirits. Of course, we can’t help but feel that things aren’t going to go well for these two. After all, both Johnny and Chanel — among other characters — are set to leave Salem soon.
Will the duo leave together, happily, looking for a new start away from Salem? Or are we about to see Chanel potentially pass away from her cancer?
