Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) are more than a little bit worried about what might be right around the corner. On Friday, July 24, 2026, we get to see just why the fan-favorite married couple is so worried.
This concern comes right around the time the ongoing crisis at the hospital is happening. Holly Jonas’ (Ashley Puzemis) has hit a critical point, thanks to the machinations of EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel). Meanwhile, the duo remains concerned about their daughter, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), and how her marriage to Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) seems to be falling apart.
Amid all of this drama and all of their many concerns, will Steve and Kayla manage to save the day, as they always seem to?
A Hospital Crisis Involving the DiMeras
Recently on DOOL, Holly was unknowingly poisoned by arsenic. As the poison began to damage her kidneys and liver, Kayla and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) raced to save her, unsure of what, exactly, was going on. It was only when a medical book clue pointed Sarah in the right direction — and Holly’s aunt realized that she was dealing with arsenic poisoning.
Kayla and Sarah were able to stabilize her, but now the doctors have quite a lot of questions surrounding Holly’s health. Meanwhile, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) has asked Steve to investigate the whole thing — as well as who may have planted the medical book clue in Sarah’s office.
Days of Our Lives spoilers have also confirmed that suspicion will continue to circle around EJ for quite a variety of reasons. Kayla has recently even challenged EJ’s control after the hospital stripped EJ of his ownership rights. Now, EJ has 90 days to divest.
Plus, Kayla has sought out Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord), as Cat’s close proximity to EJ could be of use to Kayla and Steve during all of this drama. Clearly, the duo is in the thick of this mess — and they might be key to figuring out just what EJ has done to Holly.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Kayla & Steve Fear the Future
Kayla and Steve are worried about what might come next. However, these new spoilers don’t indicate what they’re worried about — or why. However, it doesn’t take much to jump to the conclusion that their fears stem from Holly’s poisoning and the growing suspicions around EJ.
After all, Steve could begin to close in on who put that medical book in Sarah’s office. Sarah might not have saved Holly if not for this little tip. He’s investigating the truth. If anyone can find out what really is going on, it’s Steve.
Meanwhile, Kayla might have her own drama to deal with after opposing EJ. Could he go after her professionally? And what about her attempt to use Cat as an inside source? If EJ finds out about this, Kayla definitely would have a lot to fear.
Though these Days of Our Lives spoilers don’t indicate where this fear is coming from, it’s clear that Steve and Kayla have quite a lot they’ll have to deal with in the near future. If they uncover all that EJ has done, they might place themselves — or their loved ones — in danger.
Speaking of loved ones… If this latest spoiler isn’t about Holly and EJ at all, then it’ll be about Stephanie. And one feels that Steve and Kayla definitely have a lot to worry about when it comes to their daughter.
