Young and the Restless spoilers confirm that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are about to push their increasingly complicated dynamic into brand new territory. On Thursday, August 27, 2026, their “heated rivalry” takes an interesting turn. Perhaps this spoiler is hinting at what the show’s weekly preview reveals… that Kyle leans in and kisses Victoria, and that she responds by wrapping her arms around him?
Suddenly, Victoria and Kyle have become the most interesting people in Genoa City!
The Growing Attraction Between Victoria and Kyle
In our opinion, Young and the Restless’ Victoria and Kyle storyline has worked because the attraction between the two has developed inside an existing conflict. It’s not like the two have suddenly developed feelings for each other outside of it. Their attraction to each other has not replaced their ongoing conflict — and that’s rather delightful to watch.
Of course, Kyle’s unresolved conflict with Victoria’s father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), remains central to this setup. Back in July, Kyle openly vowed revenge on Victor, blaming him for bringing the deranged Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) back into the Abbotts’ lives. Patty has since put Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in major danger.
As previous Young and the Restless spoilers confirmed at the time, Victoria pushed back on this idea. She urged Kyle to call a truce before the ongoing Newman-Abbott war created even more collateral damage.
Then… the tone between these two foes changed.
In early August, Kyle began to see a new side of Victoria as she struggled to deal with her brother, Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) ongoing struggles with addiction. As Kyle comforted her, the two almost shared a kiss… before Jack interrupted them.
After this moment, Victoria and Kyle continued to bond. They recognized that they could continue to have these issues with their fathers without it becoming an issue for them.
Of course, you don’t need any new Young and the Restless spoilers to hint that a potential Victoria-Kyle pairing will bring some major drama to Genoa City. After all, Kyle is the ex of Victoria’s daughter, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). While Claire is sane and everything now, she didn’t used to be… so how she’d take her mother getting with her ex-boyfriend remains to be seen.

Young and the Restless Spoilers: An Interesting Heated Rivalry Between Kyle and Victoria
So far, there’s no indication that Y&R is trying to put Kyle and Victoria together as a new, exclusive couple. However, it’s clear that there’s an attraction between them, and now they’re going to share a rather interesting kiss. While a physical attraction is very clear, there’s no telling just how far this attraction is going to go.
Clearly, this relationship is going to be rather messy. It’s not going to be some sweet, uncomplicated romance.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers hint at this. On Tuesday, Victoria has a proposition for Kyle. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Diane becomes suspicious of Kyle’s new game plan. We’ve got lots of drama with this duo this week!
Could Kyle be pursuing Victoria as part of his revenge against Victor? No spoilers have hinted at this so far, but Diane’s suspicion is interesting and could suggest that this is Kyle’s ultimate goal. If so, Kyle could soon realize that his real feelings for Victoria are interfering with whatever strategy he has planned.
Regardless of how this plays out, Victoria and Kyle’s little romance has already become a bit controversial. While many fans love the soapiness of it all, some fans don’t like the idea of Victoria becoming involved with her daughter’s ex.
But is it really a soap opera if uncomfortable family drama isn’t happening…?
