This latest marital separation came about for a variety of reasons — though they all had a little something to do with Nikki and her ongoing friendship with Victor’s enemy, Jack.
Nikki was furious when she learned of all the things that Victor had recently done to Jack, including bringing back Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk). Victor used Patty in a scheme to kidnap Jack. This was all done so Victor could leverage Jack’s safety against Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
As previous Young and the Restless spoilers confirmed, Nikki was very upset at Victor’s actions — so much so that she ended up leaving him. Victor felt that her worry about Jack was a betrayal of him and their marriage, so he was glad to see her go.
However, the bitterness between Victor and Nikki has lessened a bit after Nikki’s serious medical crisis. After experiencing deteriorating vision, a risky surgery, and a period of blindness, Nikki found her way back to Victor as he focused on finding her the best medical care possible.
Eventually, Nikki regained her sight — and Victor was there helping her every step of the way, even when she was beyond frustrated with what she was going through. Now, it appears the two will officially find their way back to each other. They’ve both agreed to a fresh start. But can these two really put Jack Abbott out of their minds?
