For weeks now, Jacob has been working undercover in his quest to bring down the illegal plasma harvesting ring that is running out of the hospital. Bradley ‘Smitty’ Smith (Mike Manning) is working alongside him as an investigative journalist. The two are hoping to find out who is really behind this ring — and bring them down.
Now, it appears we might see the beginning of the end of this storyline… if it doesn’t get even more dangerous for Jacob and Smitty first!
Official Beyond the Gates spoilers confirm that Jacob gets a new lead in the case on Friday, April 10, 2026. This new lead comes exactly one day after Smitty commits a crime.

Jacob Strives to Bring Down an Illegal Plasma Harvesting Ring on BTG
Jacob is ready for his current undercover case to be over. He misses his wife, Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit), desperately. The two even had to spend their wedding anniversary apart!
Though Jacob has been working the case for a while, he hasn’t had too many breaks. Plus, Smitty has stressed him out a bit. Recently, Jacob warned Smitty not to go rogue and go spying in the hospital, searching for the lady that Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) admitted was in charge of the drop-offs. It appears Smitty doesn’t listen to him, as on Thursday, he commits a crime!
Jacob is currently trying to figure out who gives Grayson orders. Beyond the Gates spoilers may now hint that Jacob takes a step in the right direction in this case. Could this lead him to figure out that Dr. Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) is behind the whole thing?
This new lead is a huge surprise, as on Thursday, Grayson was going out of his way to stonewall Jacob. Clearly, Jacob manages to power through to learn new information!
There’s no telling when this storyline is going to come to a conclusion. Even if it does — even if Jacob takes them all down — there’s going to be major fallout from this story. After all, Grayson is currently dating Naomi’s best friend, Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob). Ashley is pretty smitten with Grayson at the moment, so she’s going to be devastated that he’s a part of this illegal ring.
Jacob and Smitty are both in danger as they continue to investigate. So, will this new lead that these Beyond the Gates spoilers hint at begin to wrap up this case?
