Beyond the Gates spoilers reveal that Nicole Dupree (Daphnee Duplaix) and her ex-husband Ted Richardson (Keith Robinson) get the chance to open up to one another. After a horrible breakup, the once-happy couple has managed to put aside their pain and become friendly.

Both Nicole and Ted have managed to move on, though they both are facing a few difficulties in their relationships. Can the exes be supportive of each other… or will this conversation end with them lashing out at each other?
Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Nicole and Ted Open Up About Their Romantic Relationships
At the moment, Nicole and Ted have had a bit of relationship drama. Nicole is currently dating both Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley) and Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan), though she recently had a huge fight with Carlton — and turned to Kial to make herself feel better.
The fight between Nicole and Carlton came about after their horrendous double date with Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) and Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) — a date that Beyond the Gates spoilers hint will continue to have repercussions for multiple characters. Carlton wondered if Nicole was being hard on Vanessa because she wanted to be hard on herself, in a psychological way.
After all, many people have been shocked at how Nicole has acted in her romantic life since leaving Ted. Carlton, who was Ted’s former best friend and has known Nicole for decades, pointed out how different she is. Nicole took major issue with this, was deeply offended, and asked him to leave.
Carlton gained some advice from Ted, of all people, but who knows if the two will be able to work it out. Meanwhile, Ted had a brief moment with Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson-Morrison) where it looked like things wouldn’t be okay between them. But then he confessed his real affection for her, and now they’re both on the same page!
Can Ted Help Nicole Out on BTG?
Clearly, Ted’s relationship with Shanice is going strong. Nicole, meanwhile, is still stuck between two men, though Carlton has definitely put his foot in his mouth. Thanks to these new Beyond the Gates spoilers, we can’t help but wonder: can Ted help Nicole understand her own romantic life?
After all, who knows Nicole better than the man who was married to her for decades? Sure, he’s made many mistakes. Plus, he has even admitted to Carlton that he doesn’t recognize his wife in how Nicole is acting now.
However, maybe this conversation can help them both form a new, friendly relationship where they discuss what they truly want from a romantic relationship. Maybe by talking with Ted, Nicole can work through her own feelings. Could she finally decide if she wants to continue as she is, or settle down with either Carlton or Kial?
