Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) turns to his mother, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), for guidance on Monday, August 3, 2026. This latest Finn/Li conversation comes amid the ongoing drama between Finn’s biological mother, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), and his wife, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Recently on B&B, Finn floated the idea of allowing Sheila to see his son — and her grandson — with supervised contact. Steffy, of course, fully rejected that idea. 

Now, however, it appears that Finn is seeking out Li, his adoptive mother, about what he should do. This makes Li the most influential person in this ongoing storyline. Li has an ability to see this drama for what it is. She knows that Finn has an attachment to Sheila, yet she also understands the years of violence and manipulation Sheila has put Steffy through.

And, of course, Li and Sheila also have their own connection that can’t be ignored. So, just how will Li advise Finn on this tricky situation?

Finn’s Promise to Steffy Is Already Being Tested

Not too long ago, as previous Bold and the Beautiful spoilers hinted at, Finn reassured Steffy that Sheila wouldn’t return to their lives — even though his mother was fighting hard to reconnect with her son and his children. Finn promised Steffy that she would always be able to count on him to protect both her and their entire family.

Finn issued this assurance as Sheila continued to find a way to be a part of Finn’s life, even though Steffy had been very clear on why that would never happen. 

Though Finn told Steffy he was certain this was what he wanted, it’s clear that he might be swayed by Sheila. Just last week, Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) noticed that cracks were appearing in Finn’s stance on Sheila. Finn couldn’t help but wonder if Sheila really had changed for the better — especially as she hasn’t acted like her crazy self in quite a while.

Rather quickly, Finn began to change his stance on Sheila… yet again. By Friday of last week, Finn wasn’t saying he was going to cut off Sheila completely. Instead, he was proposing reconnecting with her in a controlled, limited way.

Rather astonishingly, Finn suggested that Sheila could have supervised visits with Hayes. In Finn’s mind, giving Sheila limited visits might give Sheila something to lose — and therefore reduce the danger she could put everyone in.

Steffy, of course, didn’t see it in quite this way. She feels that allowing Sheila any sort of access to their family and their son would create an opening that Sheila would then work to manipulate and exploit.

Steffy refused his idea. Finn doesn’t appear to be ready to take her refusal as final, according to these new Bold and the Beautiful spoilers. He goes to Li for advice about the whole thing. Could Finn go so far as to betray Steffy’s trust where Sheila is concerned? 

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Li Understands Both Sheila and Steffy

Li is in a position where she could truly help Finn. As his adoptive mother, she intuitively understands his desire to get to know Sheila. She sees how his feelings for his biological mother cannot simply be switched off at will because Steffy demands it. Li sees all of this — and she doesn’t judge Finn for these feelings he has.

However, at the same time, Li knows only too well just how destructive Sheila can be. Therefore, she understands why Steffy has major fears about Sheila reentering her family’s life.

Furthermore, Li and Sheila have had an incredibly interesting history. Despite it all, the two have managed to form a very good friendship. Recently, Sheila even approached Li and begged her to help her intervene, as she desperately wants to have a relationship with Finn and Hayes. This ultimately led to Li stating that she would help Sheila — but only if she believed she could.

As these new Bold and the Beautiful spoilers hint that Li could be the one to guide Finn in the right direction, we can’t help but ask: what direction would that be? Will Li tell Finn to respect Steffy’s boundaries and stop thinking about Sheila?

Or will she agree with Finn’s idea on allowing Sheila limited access, if only to keep her controlled and less dangerous than she could be if she had nothing to lose?
