Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) confides in Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) on Thursday, July 30, 2026. It appears that Daniel has become the person Abby feels she can turn to while her marriage to Devon Winters (Bryton James) continues to become strained.
Daniel looks like he’ll be the friend that Abby needs… but could he perhaps be something even more?
Abby & Devon’s Latest Marriage Struggle
Things haven’t been the greatest in Abby and Devon’s marriage since Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) kidnapped their son. Although their son was returned to them safely, Devon’s anger and fear over the entire situation have pushed Abby away — especially after Mariah entered psychiatric treatment rather than being sentenced to serve time in prison.
Throughout it all, Abby has supported her husband. However, she has also pushed back when she felt that he was using his pain to try to hurt Mariah — their friend — for what she did when she wasn’t in her right mind.
These disagreements over Mariah and their son’s kidnapping led to a communication breakdown. As previous Young and the Restless spoilers revealed, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Abby’s mother, was able to connect with Devon after Abby confided in her about how Devon seemed to be shutting her out.
Though it appeared that Devon’s visit to Mariah helped him come to terms with the whole situation slightly, major strain is still on their marriage. Ashley offered to speak with her son-in-law. This ultimately led to Devon agreeing that he needed to open up more with his wife.
However, these new spoilers seem to hint that Abby is getting emotional support from Daniel — and not from her husband.
Young and the Restless Spoilers: Abby Leans on Daniel
Abby needs a friend to lean on. That much is clear. She has already spoken to Daniel about some of the problems in her marriage — at least, where these problems intersected with Mariah. After all, Daniel was also affected by the fallout of Mariah’s kidnapping, as he had fallen in love with Mariah’s wife, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).
Now, Tessa is trying to make things work with Mariah. She and Daniel are just friends. So, Daniel has the ability to understand what Abby is going through. He might just be able to help her process everything and why Devon might not be willing to open up to her.
These new Young and the Restless spoilers don’t hint that we’re going to see anything else develop between Abby and Daniel — at least, not in these upcoming scenes. However, longtime Y&R viewers know that the duo shares a romantic history.
If Devon continues to refuse to communicate about his feelings with Abby, will she continue to seek out Daniel to talk about her marriage woes? The two are friendly, and their connection could quickly become emotionally intimate… and then romantic.
So, will Devon seek out Abby to finally have a heart-to-heart with his wife? If he does, will he see how Abby has begun to lean on Daniel? If so, he might just begin to see Daniel as a threat…
